FREE SHIPPING – Limited Time Only!
The Walking Liberty half dollar was issued throughout a period that spanned World War I, the Roaring Twenties, the Great Depression, and World War II—serving as a direct witness to some of the most turbulent years in modern American history.
Obverse: Draped in the Stars and Stripes, the Statue of Liberty strides toward the rising sun on the left, her right arm extended as if welcoming the dawn of a new era. In her left hand, she firmly grasps branches of laurel and oak—symbols of peace and strength, respectively. Beneath her feet lie rolling hills, while the sun ascends from the horizon, its rays piercing through the clouds to bathe the earth in light. Through this dynamic, striding posture, the abstract "spirit of liberty" is transformed into a tangible figure, imbued with both purpose and power.
Reverse :a bald eagle stands with its head held high and chest thrust forward, wings slightly spread, atop a rugged, precipitous crag. A small pine sapling emerges from a crevice in the rock—a metaphor for a nascent nation thriving amidst a harsh and perilous environment.
